Simon van der Stel, the Cape Governor in the late seventeenth century, handed the farm to one of his captains in 1685, Martin Pouisseon, a French Huguenot refugee from religious persecution, named it Slent. It was a beautiful sunny day in January 2004 when we first saw the farm. It was love at first sight. Both passionate about agriculture and wine, in love with South Africa, we were looking for a farm to buy and live. Slent today means land, people and passion. 60 hectares of vineyards and 45 people, adults and children, whose lives are invested in the farm. Michela & Attilio
