Roy's Beach House

Newly designed and owned by celebrated culinary pioneer, Chef Roy Yamaguchi, Roy’s Beach House opens in August 2016 at the iconic Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s famed North Shore. Roy’s Beach House will offer North Shore locals and visitors from around the world a casual, yet chic, dining experience featuring the freshest local ingredients prepared in Roy’s signature style.

The concept and design for the new 140-seat open-air restaurant are a reflection of Roy’s love for white sandy beaches and the ocean. He has fond memories of potluck gatherings on the beach with a variety of his family’s favorite dishes – a memory he hopes to create for you at the Beach House.

The main dining area will be host to elegant teak loveseats and lounge chairs dispersed between more traditional dining furniture to make you feel like you are in a friend’s charming beach house living room. The restaurant will also feature a 50-seat lanai area for private parties and ocean front gatherings. And, a Roy’s Take Out window will serve a lighter menu throughout the day for beach-goers.

Roy is proud to bring Executive Chef Gordon Hopkins, one of Roy’s original chef partners, back to the kitchen. With more than 20 years of experience as Roy’s Restaurant’s corporate executive chef on the mainland, Chef Hopkins promises to deliver a menu that reflects Roy’s Hawaii inspired cuisine in a North Shore relaxed setting. Hand crafted, tropical cocktails and cold pressed fresh juices served from a beautiful, natural, unfinished wood bar will also be a featured part of the new menu.

“Gordon was my first Executive Chef and partner at Roy’s Hawaii Kai many years ago,” said Yamaguchi. “I am excited to have him back and know he will be able to successfully deliver a world-class menu and dining experience for our guests.”

Turtle Bay Resort sits on Kuilima Cove where Hawaii’s royalty swam and relaxed. With sweeping ocean views accentuated by two stunning reef points as a backdrop, Roy’s Beach House guests will dine like royalty in an open-air pavilion that offers an authentic sense of place.
