History:
In 1935, the State & Central location opened as Gwen Gayle Grocery and Market. It was owned by sisters Lillian Phillips and Pearl Harder.
The sisters did not get along with each other, were described as not "particularly friendly", and "lacked good customer service skills."
We hope to treat our customers a little better!
