Cityprom Limited was formed in 1988 as an agreement between the Launceston City Council and a group of retailers to encourage the promotion and development of the central business district of the city of Launceston. Cityprom has a Board of Directors consisting of 12 members and employs an Executive Officer, Promotions Officer, Marketing Assistant and a Finance Officer.

Perry and I started Elaia in 1996 as a result of our deli customers wanting good quality coffee and food and somewhere nice to sit. We were the first licensed café to open in the ‘Paris’ end of Charles Street with on street dining and serving All Day Breakfasts.
Now 21 years later, Elaia has proudly evolved into a significant Cafe/Restaurant and has become Launceston's favourite choice for breakfast, lunch, dinner and that something in between.
