The Brighton steak & fish restaurant called "super" by The Telegraph, "exceptional" by Source and home to the only Josper oven in Sussex.
Here at the Coal Shed, we believe the simple way is the best way, with good quality ingredients cooked over our real charcoal oven. Specialising in meat and fish, our relaxed, stylish restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and our service has been called "super" by The Telegraph.
Although we believe our Scottish cattle steaks to be one of our signature dishes, our menu is not prescriptive. Instead we offer a variety of cuts and weights of meat and fish (alongside various side orders) to cater for each individual, or to share as you please.
We also offer an express lunch and pre-theatre menu, as well as a popular range of gourmet takeput sandwiches for lunch.
Furthermore, the ‘Specials’ change daily and our menu adapts seasonally to ensure the best use of local, sustainable ingredients.
For those special occasions, we also offer a private dining room. Able to cater for up to 18 people, this room is equipped with your own personal waitress and use of your own music system. In addition, espoke menus can be created for your special occasion as you relax by the period fireplace.
