The History of "The Root"
Root River Golf Club has been in the Barsanti Family since 1944. Jane and Harvey Barsanti Sr. purchased The Root and began operation in 1945, with the help of greens superintendant Ernie Damerino. Although Harvey passed away in 1960, and Ernie passed away in 1979, Jane kept the business in the family with the help of her four children: Roberta, Nancy, Richard, and Harvey Jr.
Barsanti's Restaurant
Barsanti's Restaurant carries on the tradition of good food and a full plate. This Barsanti family tradition was established early on with Barsanti's Steak House and The Barsanti's Small Frye. Having started his career at the tender age of 16, Alfred Caruso worked with the Barsanti family for 22 years before becoming the master of our kitchen in 2003. We invite you to come and try Alfred's Signature BBQ Baby Back Ribs or Prime Rib Dinner.
