Our philosophy of croatian cooking can be described in one word ALAVIJA wich means “that way”. It discovers all simplicity but also richness of our meals.
It is the island of captains and their palaces. It is the island of hundred sailboats. We like to call this island “The green ship”. Silba is full of hundreds years old holly oak by which it was named (lat. Selva, Silva – forest). Silba island is together with Mljet the “greenest” island in Croatia. Some people like to call it Magic island, some call it island of “unrequited love” (when you come, you will hear this love story) and some like to say it is a heaven on earth. This is where our story begins – the story of “tasting” croatian food.
