So, here we are, in Buzios. Buzios originally settled by European pirates and slave trades, this happy mixture of many bloods prospered and became a picturesque fishing village, elected one the 10 most awesome areas in the world. Buzios, 105 miles (169km) northeast of Rio de Janeiro was popularizad by legendary movie star Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s.
The peninsula is a beach resort with an active nightlife and restaurants.The west coast offer calm and clear waters while the east cost ones, facing the open sea, are a bit more wild and draw surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Among the most popular beaches are Ferradurinha, Ferradura, Joao Fernandes with several bars, restaurants and known for seafood. Geriba, Tucuns and Jose Goncalves are popular for surfing. The beaches Manquinhos and Brava for windsurfing and Kitesurfing. Rua das Pedras the main street, winds through the town center and features shopping, restaurants and night clubs.
