How we got into the biz ...
The year is 2011 March, (remember that!) I tell one of my guys, Terra, to find a place where me and my guys can hangout, relax, make plans for future…endeavors. Terra does just that.
Our new “social club” is great…except my wise guys want food, too. So Terra knocks a hole in the wall and there’s just enough room for a sink, walk-in, and a pizza oven. So, Terra starts makin’ pizzas.
In a matter of days the aroma gets around da neighborhood. “Civilians” start comin’ by, askin’ to buy pizza. Us, bein’ good ‘neighbors’ oblige…and before ya know it we got a line around the block!
I tell Terra…”run with it…!” We are in da pizza business full time!
Business is good, our customers are great, and good friends we did meet. So I tell Terra, lets get a place where our new friends can come and relax, have a beverage and dine with us. Bein who Terra is, she did it, that Terra, for bein one of da guys takes what she does seriously. Nuf said.
“Back in Little Italy, everyone calls pizzas "pies". But here at Godfather's Pizza, we call 'em pies cuz the crusts are covered with a whole mob of toppings piled so high we have to smother 'em with mozzarella cheese just to hold it all in. They're so thick and delicious; we gotta call 'em pies!"
