Farmer's Deli is a platform for producers of traceable, certified-organic products from Malta, Sicily, North Italy and Spain.
Our model is based on sourcing fresh produce and other products which we trust.
On which criteria?
All our products are traceable to their producer (we know all Maltese and Sicilian farmers personally, hence we put our credibility based on their good practices which we have tried and tested).
The rest of the produce is traceable with a lot number and a certification which is issued by a controlling body which analyses produce in the country of origin.
We do not soure 'passported' produce which is certified by a controlling body which does not analyse the produce and the soil in the country of origin. .
Products which contain non-EU agriculture simply because they are not produced in the EU are labelled according. You will know that your organic ginger comes from Peru, for example.
Sugar, chocolate mass, coffee, to mention just a few, are all imported from outside the EU. Since it is not realistic to know the producers of all these products - they are simply too far away but the demand for their produce remains, we rely on labels which are not only certified organic but also have the Fairtrade controlling body approval.
