Established in 1845, Chui Huay Lim Club has a rich history of almost 166 years. It was originally set up for Teochew businessmen to engage in recreational activities, interact with fellow clansmen and seek progression for the community. It is located at No. 190 Keng Lee Road, on a piece of 4,700 square metre freehold land.

The club has witnessed its glorious days as a centre for Chinese cultural activities. During occasions of traditional Chinese festivals such as the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival, the well-known ‘Society of China Studies’ would use the grounds of the club to hold scholarly celebrations like poetry recital, etc.

Chui Huay Lim Club is also noted for its community services that brought benefit to the society. Its charitable, educational, donation and humanitarian activities have won praise from many quarters. In view of Singapore’s rapid development, the club is looking at charting its future course as well, which includes retrofitting the club premises which has become dilapidated over the years.

The club hopes to reinstate itself as the centre where Singaporean Teochews converge for meaningful activities. It has plans to invite renowned Teochews from all over the world, such as Hong Kong’s Li Ka-shing to give talks, and also famous academics from China’s Shantou University for exchange programs.

Under the guidance of the Board of Directors and the support of fellow clansmen, Chui Huay Lim Club will continue to be active in cultural and charitable activities, and also contribute towards the promotion of Chinese culture.

醉花林俱乐部创立于1845年，至今已近166年的历史。原旨在为潮商提供一消闲处所，敦睦乡谊，共谋进展。其会址在庆利路190号，面积逾四千七百平方米，属永久地段。

醉花林俱乐部有非常辉煌的中华文化活动记录。当时，每逢华人佳节如端午，中秋，著名的“中国学会”都会借用俱乐部园林，举行文人墨客呤诗赏月的高雅庆祝会。

醉花林亦致力于慈善，教育，筹款赈灾等公益事业造福社会，为时人所敬仰。基于新加坡之迅速发展，俱乐部已开始全面检讨今后发展策略，包括重建年久失修之会所。

醉花林希望再次成为新加坡潮籍社会贤达举行高水平活动的中心。它计划邀请世界各地潮籍名人如香港的李嘉诚到来演讲，中国汕头大学著名学者前来交流等。

凭借着董事会的努力与众乡亲的支持，醉花林会继续活跃于华族的文化及公益事业，为弘扬中华文化尽一份绵力。
