- Welcome to My Joint -
My name is Barnabas Lim Jit Tong and I come from a respectable line of family in the food industry. I have a great passion for food and a love to host, but this was not always the case. Barney’s came about quite unexpectedly for me as I had made up my mind and even made a vow to myself that I’d never enter food service at the raw age of 15.
I set off on my journey to pursue my higher education overseas and undertook part time work within the food industry, and it was there, that my passion for food was ignited. Having worked as a cook in the United States of America and in Europe, I returned to Malaysia to further pursue and realize my ambition in the restaurant business.
I am determined to educate my customers of the tastes of the world through my food, to empower their taste-buds to experience mix and matches of foods that would ordinarily seem unthinkable but ends up tantalising taste-buds like never before and I will go to great lengths to search for new methodologies in food preparation to create countless new dishes to serve the most discerning food-lovers.
This is only made possible through the love and support from God, friends and family, excellent staff and you, my customers. Barney’s wouldn’t be what it is today without you guys, so to you all, a big THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
