The White Hart Hotel is one of Exeter’s most historic inns. While it is not the oldest Inn, it would be had it not been a family home and then a hospital before it become a coaching inn. The building was built in 1356 by William Wynard and was originally built along the medieval city wall (of which you can see throughout the pub).
