Bapulal Bhandari started a home industry in a village named Jhalod in Gujarat. Jhalod being located close to the boundaries of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, helped spread the superiority of spices to these states as well. Gradually, 'Vasant' spices became a known name in the market. The name 'Vasant' is derived from Shri Bapulalj's wife's name - Smt. Vasantiben. She was always an inspiration and a vital pillar for 'Vasant'.
