The Wilmington is open for brunch, lunch and dinner from 11am Monday to Thursday, and 10am Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
This former music venue has been meticulously transformed into an elegant and comfortable public house, perfect for drinking and dining at any time of the day. Years of decoration have been stripped back to reveal the Wilmington’s original brick and pipework, which, combined with original, reclaimed lighting and fixtures, provide an elegant backdrop to a brunch meeting, quick lunch, post‑work drink or intimate dinner.
The team have carefully reinstated the large glass atrium, which was originally installed in the 19th Century. This impressive historic feature spans the rear dining area and highlights the open kitchen, which gives diners a preview of the action backstage.
The Food
The Wilmington’s food menu takes inspiration from British and European cuisine. Here are some examples you can find on our menu. Brunch dishes will include blueberry pancakes, served with apple-wood smoked bacon, maple syrup, or pulled duck and chorizo hash with a fried duck egg, which are both available in addition to the traditional English breakfast options.
The lunch and dinner menus will offer fresh and seasonal produce, alongside daily blackboard specials, all carefully selected by the Head Chef, Stuart Mclaney. Signature lunch and dinner dishes will include; ‘Bun and Cheek’ (braised ox cheek, pan fried and served in a bun with rosemary chips), palourde clams with ham and sherry, medallions of rabbit with wild mushroom fricassee and kale, and grey mullet with samphire, brown shrimps and caper butter.
As expected, Sundays are a big feature at The Wilmington, with slow roast rump and caramelised shallots or half a roast chicken with scotch quails’ eggs featuring weekly. Desserts range from pub classics, such as sticky toffee pudding, to honey roast autumn fruits served with Amaretto ice cream and the signature Public House Mess, The Wilmington’s seasonal answer to the English classic.
The Drink
The Wilmington has 14 draught beers and ciders at the bar, featuring some from local craft brewers, and the pump selection will consist of 5 daily changing ales, with a focus on London cask producers. Alternatively, guests can treat themselves to a glass of Prosecco on tap or chose from a wide range of excellent world wines by the bottle or smaller selection of wines by the glass.
