The White House Restaurant is currently owned and operated by Beth (Grimm) Bertuzzi and Mike Bertuzzi. Beth and Mike purchased the restaurant from her parents during the summer of 2002. Beth’s parent’s, George and Mary Alyce Grimm, owned and operated the family business for thirty years. Through the years, many trends have come and gone, but two things have remained the same – the high quality of food that comes from the kitchen and the cozy and friendly environment that welcomes each guest.
In 1956, the doors of the White House first opened with Ted Mosholder’s vision of a place where people could come for a good meal, a good drink and good company. Mossy, as he was called, ran the place single-handedly until he could no longer keep up with the number of customers. In order to provide better service, a few employees were hired. Mary Alyce joined Mossy’s staff, bringing along many years of her own restaurant experience. Due to failing health, Mossy became increasingly dependent on his faithful employees to keep his business running. Mary Alyce was instrumental in keeping the restaurant open during this difficult time. It was then that Mossy decided to sell and George and Mary Alyce were more than willing to buy.
It has been a continued goal of this establishment to keep Mossy’s dream alive by providing the customers with the highest quality food along with a pleasant family-like atmosphere.
