The tap & Spile is the new name for what was the old garth inn, which at one time owned the garth gardens in front of the victorian pier. we can trace its historyas far back as 1852.when it wassole in auction.During the early years seamen working their ships in the menai starights used the pub.
During the 1980,s it was bought and refurbished by the pub chain Pubmaster and was added to thier theme chain Tap & Spile, which was focussed on quality cask conditioned ales from independent breweries. Hence becoming the first Tap & Spile in Wales.
It was then sadly sold to a couple of big companys and lost its real ale ties and its character.
However now owned by Enterprise and leased out to our selfs, we have over the years worked hard to restore it back to its original Tap & Spile theme serving upto 6 cask ales daily.
Our hard work and commitment to cask ales continues, with the range of ales available growing we have been able to extend our range.
