Our vision for the perfect vacation, in unspoilt surroundings, is to offer top-of-the-line comfort in harmony with Mother Nature, to give her a chance to impress you with an ever-changing display of colours and images.
Relax and let your senses take over as you get used to the occasional splash of an iguana taking a dip in the river, a flash of colour as a Blue-Crowned Motmot and an Aracari fight for a perch amongst the greenery on our property, while traditional drumming taunts the wind and camp fire crackles.
Most importantly, local people are our partners in ensuring its success. They have been trained in all aspects of running the lodge, from housekeeping and cleaning to cooking, from serving food and drinks and solving maintenance problems to filling your room with the fragrance of fresh-cut flowers.
Our aim is that you will be spoiled for choice. With so much to see and do, it’s easy to resist the temptation to stay in the comfort of your cabin.
Beside exploring hidden sinkholes, waterfalls, ancient ruins that were once the homes and religious centres of the great Maya Civilization, tours to nearby medicinal trails will provide you the chance to discover the customs, beliefs and traditional healing techniques of local Maya people. You can follow the tracks of its secretive wildlife and experience first-hand the sights and sounds of an untouched tropical paradise as you penetrate deeper into the undergrowth. And always keep your camera ready so you can capture the beauty of one of the world’s largest rainforests.
Want to relax on property? Hike upriver and float down the river on inner tubes and end up at our deck where a rope swing taunts you to take a leap. Indulge yourself with a massage at our RAW spa, team up with some locals and try your hand at traditional corn tortilla making or join us with that special someone during our Sunset wine tasting on our bird pavilion.
And as the day lazily comes to an end, maybe it’s spoil-yourself time with a refreshing cocktail from our bar, a delicious dinner to end the day and a lazy walk to your private cabin that sits where our Maya Ancestors once rested on their trade routes.
