Polly Claire’s is a restaurant within a historic building. We are open for tea and lunch six days a week, and dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. Private and after hour events are welcomed. Let us take you back to a more simple, graceful time! Our gift shop located behind the restaurant has unique gifts and fine china.
Our building is the only plantation house in Chattanooga. It was formerly the Bonny Oaks Children's home where hundreds of children grew up for a span of 95 of years. Originally the home was built by railroad contractor Jarrett Dent who was cousin to President Ulysses S. Grant's wife Julia. The Dent House is a Chattanooga icon and many people have personal stories and memories of the home and surrounding grounds.
We offer British inspired meals with an American flare. Everything is made right in our own historic kitchen.
