Georgia's City Lights

Welcome to Georgia's City Lights A Brief History: The building was built in 1946 in the middle of a cornfield by Wink Novak. It was called Winks. People knew the bar by the blinking eye sign outside the building. Winks wife Betty, was the foundation of the operation. They had two children, Mary and Billy, who grew up and learned the business. In 1982, Wink and Betty sold the business to Georgia and James Gossler. By that time, the blinking eye sign no longer blinked ~ it fluttered. They wanted to name the bar "Charlie's City Lights", but they couldn't get past copyrights, so they named it Georgia's City Lights. The decor was Charlie Chaplin but it has changed with the times. 35 years have come and gone. James is now the sole owner of the bar. His wife Adrienne does assist with daily operations of the bar. People have passed through with good times and memories. The bar itself might have changed throughout the years but the welcome feeling people get coming through the door, whether being regular customers or new customers, is something you don't get at other places. People come here to hangout with their friends, play pool, darts, or bocce in a truly laid back, open atmosphere "Cheers" type of bar. Stop by, have a beer and/or a smoke and say hi.
