MayAchik is an ecologically constructed natural paradise, enjoyed by people from all over the world. It is a place where you can appreciate full contact with nature while having an exclusive view of the impressive mountain formation Rostro Maya (the Indian Nose). MayAchik is constructed with local natural materials (adobe, stone, wood, and palm leaves) and traditional building techniques. As part of our aim of self-sustainability we are not only using solar panels to supply energy and hot water, but we are also reducing our water consumption throughout the site using dry compost toilets.
In MayAchik’ we have an organic garden filled with fragrant and flavorsome herbs which season the dishes served in our restaurant. There are several fruit trees from which we make mouth-watering desserts, ice-creams and cakes.
In our restaurant we offer a wide range of delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. You can choose from our menu options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, cakes and much more.
Coffee lovers should sample aromatic MayAchik’ Coffee, which they can enjoy surrounded by our very own coffee plants.
MayAchik’ (meaning “Mayan Magical Dream” in Tz’utujil) is a dream that you will not want to wake up from. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind in lush, green surroundings, enjoy vegetarian food, sooth your body in our Temazcal (traditional Mayan sauna) and take a siesta in one of the many hammocks in our garden. Energize yourself on one of the many local hikes and excursions or join our workshops and experience local culture unique to San Juan. Later, you can even end your day with a soothing massage.
