In 1943, Carl Buddig started his chopped, pressed, cooked, smoked beef process. It was an industry innovation that produced a better quality product consistently. Since then, nothing makes us happier than providing your family with great tasting meats at affordable prices. Over the years, we’ve added a variety of mouthwatering new flavors, but we’ve never compromised our family tradition of quality established by Carl Buddig himself.
Since the Buddig name first appeared on a small butcher shop on the south side of Chicago way back in 1886, Buddig has been synonymous with quality meat. For the past 72 years, Carl Buddig & Company has been a family operation, and it will continue to be. We’re exceptionally proud of our “family of employees” and the commitment they show every day. Our employees strive to bring you only the highest-quality meats because we’re consumers ourselves.

Our selection of meat products grew in 1981, when Buddig purchased Sheboygan-based Old Wisconsin Sausage Company.
