Spring clean and a new vibe. Thirteensteps has closed its doors. The business will open next week as Walker bros wine bar, the new name is a salute to the history of the building.

The owners say its time for the restaurant to reinvent itself. It’s sad to say goodbye, as we have built a strong following, however shifting the culinary inspiration, and reimagining the space feels right. Thirteen steps which took over the cellar under barnard street over 5 years ago will undergo a frantic refit in preparation for the new offering. We will reincarnate as a funky, friendly bar with a new name, look and menu. Co-owners Roy and David are bringing you a relaxed approach to great food and wine. We invite you to come share in a great quality casual feed, with local produce, awesome wine list, craft beer and beer on tap.

The space will be refreshed with polished cement bar top, bar stools, beer on tap. Black and white wall murals that draw on the history of bright. The name change is a nod to the original walker bros store located within the building in the early 1900s. The room has kept its aubergine banquets, ambient lighting and cosy atmosphere.

Food menu and wine menu available for walker bro’s soon. Keep an eye on this space. We reopen on Friday 20 October 2017. Pop in and check it out. Great new menu!
