After more than 15 years, A Taste of St. Croix still captures the unique spirit and flavor of the hospitality industry of St. Croix in a celebration that is now hailed as one of the premier food and wine events in the US Virgin Islands.

Founded in 2001 by two restaurateurs, Kelly Odom and Katherine Pugliese, A Taste of St. Croix pools the diverse talent of over 50 of St. Croix’s local caterers, chefs, vendors, specialty cooks, baristas and bartenders. Held on one night in April for just three hours, the Taste packs in an amazing variety of creations that range from the delightfully new to the most authentic of regional cuisine. To top it all off, restaurants vie for coveted awards in several dish categories, including best entrée, dessert, beverage, and local dish. And, for the Best Presentation award, each participant builds stunning visual displays themed around food and wine.

With a guest list of 1000, tickets are sold out the same day they go on sale. Ticket holders spend the night of Taste touring over 50 booths filled with the best each vendor has to offer. Winding their way through the lavishly appointed beachside resort, Divi Carina Bay Resort, guests will brush sleeves with many of the event’s national and international friends and celebrity judges, such as Iron Chefs Tim Love, Kevin Rathbun, and Roberto Trevino. And as a food and wine event, there is no shortage of leading vintners and sommeliers, such as Bo Barrett and Francesca Tinazzi, pouring their inspiring inventions. From decadent home-made chocolate, the recipe a closely guarded St. Croix secret, to the most sublime of conch soups, guests at the Taste spend three hours tasting to their hearts content and reacquainting their souls with the art of good cooking and fine wine.

To make the event even better, A Taste of St. Croix is also a fundraiser whose proceeds are leveraged back into the community through the St. Croix Foundation, a nonprofit community foundation. Through this partnership, the Taste supports the Foundation’s vision and mission to build healthy communities through economic development, public safety, education, and community revitalization. Still organized by the original founders, restaurateurs themselves, the Taste also prioritizes supporting local hospitality programs on St. Croix though education, promotion, and partnership. Working with the USVI Hotel and Tourism Association, the Taste also ensures a connection and collaboration between all three of the beautiful Virgin Islands.

Simply put, A Taste of St. Croix is a spectacular good time filled with elegance, art, culture, and laughter-all wrapped up in an event that gives back to the community it celebrates. Join us!
