Hop Sauce: A Gathering of Craft Beer & Spice Enthusiasts is a community event featuring regional hot sauces, local fare and craft brews.
Jetty, Spice It Up, and Shore Point Distribution announce the fourth annual Hop Sauce Festival! This growing and thoughtfully curated event will take place Saturday, June 3, at the Taylor Avenue Waterfront, Beach Haven to bring together gourmet hot sauces, over 25 craft beers, delicious food from local vendors, five original bands, and a host of creative new additions including artwork, pre-events, afterparties and a host of new sponsors.
In 2014, we estimated an attendance of 1,500, but the buzz around the festival brought in an unprecedented crowd of over 3,000. In 2014, attendance exceeded 5,000. In the time since, new partners both local and national have lined up to be a part of this progressive-minded festival that celebrates the beginning of another summer on Long Beach Island.
Since it’s inception, the Hop Sauce Festival had several goals. The main idea was to create a new community-oriented event, which they clearly did. We aimed to generate revenue during the traditionally “slow” weekend after Memorial Day and introduce LBI to a new forward thinking demographic that appreciated hand-crafted flavors, cutting-edge music, and microbrews. The massive turnout brought out several generations and a mix of families who come to LBI year after year, as well as people who were turned on to Island for the first time. Rave reviews from Beach Haven locals to Canadian festivalgoers proved the event directors achieved their objectives.
