Gov't Taco by Jay Ducote. Coming to Baton Rouge's White Star Market in 2017.

For long before Food Network Star, people have asked me (Jay Ducote) where my restaurant is or when I'm going to open one. Well, I finally have an answer. I'll be throwing my hat even farther into the Baton Rouge food scene with Gov't Taco, a creative and inspired taco concept in the upcoming White Star Market on Government Street.

I've been working on this idea since Clark Gaines, one of the owners of White Star Market, approached me about the concept back in November 2015.

Gov't Taco will represent my unique flavor combinations in the form of tacos. Ideas will come from my years of throwing tailgate parties, being a food writer, cooking on TV and creating menus for pop-up dinners.

A huge part of my personal story includes the time I spent at LSU where I earned both a bachelors and masters degree in political science. As I've pursued a career in the food world, I haven't forgotten about that educational background, and with it, Gov't Taco was born.
