Willie's Smoke House, LLC has been a tradition in Western Pennsylvania for 40 years. Willie's was opened by William "Bill" McKee as a retirement business after selling McKee's Market. Opening in 1972 in Harrisville, Pennsylvania (about an hour north of Pittsburgh), Bill began experimenting with different blends of wood to create the perfect smoked flavor. Bill found it with a blend of hard woods, which was primarily hickory, to create a flavor that has become synonymous with Willie's products. Coupling this new smoke flavor with techniques and recipes, which were handed down from generation to generation, word quickly spread of the quality of product sold at Willie's. Initially Willie's offered only a few select items, however, over time the selection grew to include several smoked items such as smoked turkey; smoked sausages and kolbassi; smoked beef jerky; smoked cheeses; smoked bacon; smoked salmon; BBQ smoked baby back ribs and the prized product of Willie's, our famous old fashion smoked bone-in hams. With over 100 years of tradition and experience, Willie's products have become a staple in many homes across the nation.
In 1982, Bill persuaded his son John, an engineer by trade, to leave his job in Pittsburgh, PA and join the family business. Along with his wife, Jennie, son, Jason and daughter, Laura, John moved his family to Grove City, PA. Building upon a reputation for quality products and friendly service, John has expanded the business to the point where Willie's ships its products to all 50 states and Canada.
Following in his grandfather's and father's footsteps, John's son Jason, left his job as an attorney in Pittsburgh, PA and has joined the family business, along with his wife, Erin, to carry on a tradition of quality products and sevice that people have come to associate with Willie's Smoke House.
