The café takes its name from the Māori language and literally means "provisions for a journey". The legend of Ōtorohanga as told by a descendant of the Ngāti Maniapoto tribe, is up on the wall and tells the story of greeting and welcoming others with outstretched hands with the provision of food. It is this philosophy that underpins Ō, which is warm at heart and dedicated to providing fresh, tasty treats in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.
