The Australian Hotel in Boonah was established in 1888 and has a rich and colourful history.
One of the unique features of the Aussie is that it is haunted by more than one ghost. A young woman, middle aged man and cranky old publican are all part of the rich tapestry of supernatural goings on at Boonah's oldest pub.
Flavours Café building was originally the office building for the Boonah Butter Factory which was built in 1916. The Boonah Butter Factory company was sold to Jacaranda Milk Company at Booval in Ipswich. Jacaranda Milk was then taken over by Dairy Farmers Milk Co-op and in 1999 the building was purchased by the Neilsen family and then opened in 2000 as Flavours Café. During the transformation from a butter factory office to Flavours Café the heritage of the building was enhanced and wherever possible heritage material was used to bring the building to it's wonderful state as it is today.
