The brainchild of two best mates Ben & James, Raw + Rice was born from a shared obsession & respect of the ocean, fishing and Japanese inspired cuisine. (With a combined 12 years of cooking experience under their belts, both boys know their way around a kitchen). When on sabbatical in L.A, Ben discovered Poke, a Japanese/Hawaiian raw marinated fish & rice dish with the perfect alchemy of flavours. Seeking an alternative to their now seemingly mundane & done to death takeaway options, opening a Poke restaurant in their local of Mooloolaba that served only quality earth to table ingredients was undeniable.
