O'Rorkes

Rating 4.5 (average of 901 opinions)

Located at 44 Steinwehr Avenue in downtown Gettysburg, established in 2000, O'Rorkes is named after Union commander and hero Patrick Henry O'rorke, the 26 year old Colonel of the 140th New York Infantry. An Irish immigrant who settled as a child in Rochester, New York. He graduated first in his class at West Point in the Spring of 1861. His illustrious military career was cut short in Gettysburg, where he dies on July 2, 1863 on Little Round Top while leading his regiment in battle. The young Colonel left behind his bride of just a few weeks and many acquaintances who were proud to call him their friend.

Our name is meant to appeal to history lovers who pass through our doors, to those who love all things Irish, and to those who want a great meal and a good time.

About the Restaurant
A true Irish Restaurant in spirit and decor, O'Rorke's Pub features a wide-ranging menu with traditional Irish favorites, classic American cuisine and special dishes.

The dining area is split into two levels. Downstairs there is our country cottage area with a brick fireplace and wide plank floors making you feel as if you stepped back in time. The wooden bar is the centerpiece of the front pub area with cozy booths and a fireplace at the end of the room.

Upstairs is suitable for parties up to 40 people for dining but still it retains that comfortable charm that you felt as you walked in.
