Little Makana Shave Ice is a mobile shave ice and cotton candy vendor based out of Bend, Oregon.
In 2016 I surprised my husband with a trip to Maui to celebrate our anniversary. While we were there we enjoyed delicious Hawaiian shave ice on a daily basis and realized the experience was much more than syrup over ice. The island culture shined through as we interacted with each friendly and personable server. Upon coming back to Oregon, we decided that we wanted to replicate not only the delicious treat but also the experience we had.
Meaning “gift” in Hawaiian, Makana to us symbolizes our mission for our little food trailer in that:
- we want each customer to receive the gift of friendly, personable and fast service
- we want you and your mouth with every bite to enjoy the gift you have given it
- we want to gift organizations in our community a percentage of each purchase
