FOOD IS GIVING AND RECEIVING JOY
After almost 5 years of running a restaurant in Ascot Vale and living in the hustle ‘n’ bustle of the inner Melbourne suburbs, we were ready for a change in pace and this time wanted to explore a relaxed, tranquil environment with native scenery. A move to the quaint and tiny town of Lyonville in 2012, surrounded by the Wombat State Forest, was the perfect inspiration to start a family and create our next food business venture. With the increasing popularity of Food Trucks and the flexibility required for our family, Judder Bar Eats was launched.
Why ‘Judder Bar Eats’? If you know what a ‘Judder Bar’ is you’re a Kiwi, like Shane.
If you’re Aussie born like his wife Dot; translation - it’s a ‘Speed Hump’.
As a chef with over 20 years of cooking experience, ranging from 3 hatted French dining through to Gastro Pub menus, Shane was keen to harness his versatility and love of diverse food cultures (...hence the reference to his heritage and adaptability). He designs regularly evolving menu's suited to every event, every week and every season.
We believe in keeping it simple, authentic and accessible… without compromising on flavour packed taste.
As a family owned business, we’re committed to giving back to the community in which we live and work. We take pride in caring for the environment for future generations, using eco-friendly packaging, napkins and utensils and we make the most of our local, fresh, sustainable, (sometimes home grown) and often organic produce which makes us smile.
