The Institute for Aboriginal Development (IAD) is the oldest independent Aboriginal adult education institution in Central Australia.
The IAD was established by the Uniting Church in 1969 and is now an independent Aboriginal community-controlled language resource centre and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering nationally accredited courses to adult Aboriginal learners in Central Australia.
The Institute delivers culturally adapted literacy and numeracy training, intensive pre-employment programs along with IT and business training. We also offer bi-cultural training programs to organisations, businesses and government agencies.
The IAD’s publishing arm, IAD Press produces material on Central Australian Aboriginal people, languages and culture and works closely with communities to preserve Aboriginal languages, histories and stories.
