Hoyo is the Somali word for mother. At Hoyo, we are dedicated to promoting and advancing the welfare of Somali women by creating Somali jobs. We employ Somali mothers to make, freeze, and distribute Sambusa to grocery stores throughout the Twin Cities. As Sambusa is an important part of Somali cultural cuisine, this is an opportunity for the women to share a piece of their culture while providing for their families. The ultimate goal is to build a vibrant workforce of Somali women who successfully contribute to the economy and create self-sufficiency.
