Current owner and producer Jane Ferreira-Eedes originally started making this wine in 2009 when her parents, Naas and Jenny Ferreira from a small vineyard planted at Klein Optenhorst, their beautiful garden in Wellington.

After 29 years, Naas and Jenny decided to sell the farm and move to Montagu. Jane resolved to continue producing the wine as it holds many memories of special occasions at her family home, naming it after a favourite rose planted in the garden at Klein Optenhorst.
