It all began with a hayshed.
When we made the decision to serve our wines rather than simply sell them, we chose the perfect location atop a slight hill. It overlooked the iconic Gippsland landscape of grapevines and the Avon River Valley’s rolling pastures.
The only problem was, that spot was already claimed by a hayshed. So began the task of converting it into a welcoming, relaxed destination.
Ever since couples have come to create their dream wedding, achievements and milestones have been celebrated and families and friends have gathered to spend time together here at Avon Ridge.
Our menu (hyperlink to menu on website), celebrating the diversity and quality of Gippsland produce and complementing our award-winning range of wines and ciders, is one reason to visit. Our laid-back atmosphere, with plenty of space and activities for the kids, is another.
We grow all the grapes used in the production of our wines here at Avon Ridge Vineyard, and specialise in Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. We source all meat, eggs and vegetables used in our kitchen locally.
You can even get involved in the process by bringing in surplus produce from your home garden to exchange for goods produced in the Avon Ridge Restaurant kitchen.
We provide a memorable location and catering for your wedding or function. Our ever-popular Sunday Sippers sessions are the ideal opportunity to gather with your family and friends for a relaxed get-together with live music, an abundant table and a view that begs to be breathed in. And our restaurant is open for brunch and lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and for dinner from Thursday to Saturday.

Produce Swap
Do you have a garden that is yielding more fruit, herbs or vegetables than you can manage?
Bring your produce to us here at Avon Ridge Vineyard and exchange it for something delicious that you don’t have time to create yourself.
Choose from our wall of delights, with items like Texas barbecue sauce, tomato relish, Indian cucumber chutney, nectarine jam and apple and watermelon jam. Or wait for a sample of the goods created by our chef Troy Anderson using your produce.
Don’t let your wonderful home-grown produce go to waste. Share it with us so we can turn it into something special to share with you.
