A local favorite, Miyo's Restaurant has served the Hilo area since 1987, serving home style Japanese food. Residing in the Waiakea Villas complex for twenty-six years, the restaurant was relocated in 2012 to the new Manono Marketplace, across from Big Island Candies.
Miyo Harumi, chef and proprietor of Miyo's, grew up in Tokyo, Japan and came to the U.S. when she was nineteen in order to broaden her horizons. Through her experience of living in Japan and America, Miyo developed her own culinary style. Cooking has always been her passion and meditation.
