Aunt Stella was born October 21, 1910 in the lower east side of Manhattan. Following high school, Stella decided to devote her life to the church as a nun. She served with Dominican congregations in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, which allowed her to stay close to her family.
What I loved most about my time with Aunt Stella was her love of cooking and family dinners. I can close my eyes today, picture her cooking in the kitchen and can still smell the aroma of fresh spaghetti sauce on the stove.
