Located at 44 Steinwehr Avenue in downtown Gettysburg, established in 2000, O'Rorkes is named after Union commander and hero Patrick Henry O'rorke, the 26 year old Colonel of the 140th New York Infantry. An Irish immigrant who settled as a child in Rochester, New York. He graduated first in his class at West Point in the Spring of 1861. His illustrious military career was cut short in Gettysburg, where he dies on July 2, 1863 on Little Round Top while leading his regiment in battle.
