I remember as a young girl my mother would often remind me that God gave everyone a Gift/Talent. She would enroll me into any and everything in an effort to bring forth that gift. I did it all... H&R Block tax prep, dance, piano lessons, music (high school band), art class etc.
However, one day at the early age of 11 I so happen to open a Betty Crocker Cookbook, found that homemade brownie recipe and that is when my love for baking began. My mother recognized my gift and eventually invested money into my very first cake decorating set/equipment. Unfortunately, by the age of 15 I lost interest maybe because becoming a professional cake decorator was not considered a "real" career and of course the ever influential teenage life.
My interest for baking and cake decorating all returned when I decided that I wanted to do something unique for my grand daughter birthday. Instead, of passing out candy bags to all her friends I made cookie bouquets. The Gift that my Mother talked about, my passion for baking, decorating and creating had emerged itself again.
I owe it all to my Father in Heaven, my Earthly Father Robert Earl Johnson and my Mother Joni Lou Jones who is Resting In Heaven for believing and seeing in me what I did not see in myself.
