It all started when Willie Degel – founder and CEO of the New York-based Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse chain and one-time host of The Food Network’s Restaurant Stakeout – visited a friend in Alpharetta. He liked the Southern lifestyle and hospitality, and he recognized a gaping hole in the local restaurant market. The area was dominated by franchises with pre-made, frozen foods that were deep-fried or microwaved for serving. Nothing approached the fresh from-scratch preparation, creative menu, or quality ingredients that had put his restaurants on the map in New York.
That’s when Uncle Jack’s Meat House in Duluth was born. Combining farm-to-table bar & grill food with Degel’s legendary perfectionism and eye for drama, the Meat House features an eclectic menu of affordable appetizers, sandwiches, salads and burgers along with a look and feel straight out of a 1900s building in New York’s Meatpacking District. Whether you order the Ooey Gooey Mooey Burger or the Mojo Chicken Roasted Poblano Salad, or you hang out in the meat hook-decorated dining room or outdoor fire pit lounge, it’s THE place for good food and good times in the Atlanta area.
