Are you into cats? Do you like coffee? We've got both!
At Southpaw, you're able to relax in an atmosphere of playful cats while you enjoy a cup of coffee, a fresh dessert or a small meal. And if you absolutely have to have one of the cats? Good news! We will facilitate the adoption! All of our cats are rescues and will be looking for their forever home.
CAT AREA RULES:
The cat area does have a few rules we ask our customers to adhere to, please see the following:
- You must make at least $4 (per person) in purchases to enter the cat room. What this means is: if you purchase ONLY a medium coffee for $2.35 and want to enter the cat area, the total cost will be $4. Typically, the cost of a drink and a dessert comes to more than $4, so you won't have to worry about it. :) You may also simply pay $4 to go in without making any purchases if you wish.
- Do not wake a sleeping cat, it's a long day for them with so many people in and out! Please be courteous and allow them to sleep.
- Please don't pick up the cats - many of them don't appreciate being picked up and they may scratch or bite!
- No flash photos please! Feel free to take as many photos as you'd like, but please be kind to their eyes and turn the flash off.
- Do not feed the cats any human food, it can make them sick.
- Don't put your fingers in their mouths! While some of our cats are extremely playful and will kick and bite in a playful manner, we would try to discourage this type of play as it can lead the cat(s) to be inadvertently aggressive.
- Children under 10 are not permitted in the cat room. This is for several reasons - the well being of our animals being our primary concern, but also the experience of our other customers and of course for liability's sake. The rule can be flexible during off-peak hours, but it is always best to call ahead if you'd like to bring small children! We appreciate your understanding and patience.
- You must make a purchase before visiting the cats! We do not charge a flat cover rate like some other cat cafes do, but we would ask that you make a purchase before visiting the cat area, as the only way for us to continue to provide a foster space for our animals is if we stay in business! Thank you!
