Þrastalundur is a modern restaurant with a well-thought-out concept. It’s located a short drive north of the town Selfoss and a 40-minute drive from Reykjavík. It’s a perfect place to stop if you are travelling the Golden Circle. Þrastalundur restaurant has stunning views over the river Sogið and a very romantic and peaceful ambience to it.

Their menu consist of some traditional Icelandic dishes, such as the meat soup and the Icelandic lamb, however, Þrastalundur’s specialities are their weekend brunch and their pizza’s.

Their brunch is a big hit and for a good reason. Their brunch menu is perfect to share and consists of scrambled eggs, fruit salad, sour-dough bread, fresh orange juice, cheese and parma ham, bacon, American pancakes among other refreshments. You will not walk out feeling hungry after this hearty and well-presented brunch. Their brunch concept has become so successful that it is recommended to book a table in advance. Þrastarlundur’s brunch is available Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM – 4 PM.

Their pizzas are a big favourite among locals and many even make the drive from Reykjavík for a taste. They are baked Italian style in a wood-fired oven and Þrastalundur offers some unique and creative combinations of toppings that makes their pizzas so popular. For an extra special treat, we recommend trying their deluxe pizza’s – Palermo is a favourite, topped with lobster, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, leek and salad.

Þrastarlundur is an experience rather than just a restaurant. The staff will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and well catered to. Don’t forget to visit their cute little mini market where they offer fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly-baked bread and other groceries. It truly is the perfect place for a relaxing meal in a wonderful environment.
