Olivia American Legion Post 186

Olivia American Legion Post 186

Olivia American Legion Post 186 was formed and received a temporary charter on September 9, 1919. They received their permanent charter on February 13, 1922. The post adopted the name Erickson-Strom on Sept 5, 1944. This was in honor of William Erickson KIA in WWI and Burton J. Strom KIA in WWII both soldiers were from Olivia.
Our post continues the traditions and ideals of The American Legion by each day building on the pillars on which it was created. The four pillars of The American Legion are Veterans and Veteran Rehabilitation, Americanism, Children & Youth, and National Security. We continue to be a strong force in our community and each day work towards its advancement.
Our current membership is involved in activities all over the surrounding area. We host numerous dinners and fundraisers to many different groups in our community. We are active and proud supporters of our community to include our local chamber of commerce, law enforcment and emergency personnel, fire deparment and our local school system. As veterans we served our country honorably in the armed services, now those that have retired or are still serving are able to continue serving those around us day by day.
