The establishment was named "Lord Nelson" to pay homage to one of the British Navy’s Greatest leaders, Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté KB.
Our themed bar/bistro was designed to emulate HMS Victory, with sails & rigging as well as pictures and memorabilia taking locals and tourist alike back in time 200 years to the age of the battle of Trafalgar.
Set in the historic Grand Casemates Barracks, the restaurant was one of the first to open in the redeveloped limestone barracks in 2001. It has traditionally been since then THE place to go for live music or to watch sports or even just for a drink or a meal.
The restaurant serves a full menu with local favourites, traditional English pub grub as well as a fusion of exotic foods from around the world. We have a well stocked wine cellar to accompany the food, and you will find a selection of cool lagers and best bitters to quench your thirst on a hot summer day.
