In a “taco” shell, we want to feed you and we want you to leave happy and satisfied!

My grandparents moved from Nuevo Laredo via Monterrey, Mexico to Midland Texas and later opened El Monterrey cafe in the 50's. My parents took over in '69, as my grandparents continued to cook. I started as a busboy around '79 then cooked with both my grand parents and my parents in the mid 80's. My father opened Tacos Garcia on the blvd in 86' and it needed a boost !! So Mitsy and I took over in '88 and grew it. We built the current building in 1999, and added numerous plates including New Mexican recipes from her families home state and a full bar. We are a blend of cultures as our family is a blend.
