The Essen Haus opened back in September of 1983 in the remodeled Wilson Street Dinner Theater, best known as the original site of the Hoffman House. Since then, it has become its own staple in Madison culture. Over the past 30+ years, we have provided German food, bier and fun to visitors and Madisonians alike. The historic building offers old-world charm combined with modern day entertainment.
