Good Ol' Wishy's was built after Croghan's second fire in 1912. The original building served as a drug store and was owned by Alowishas VerScheinder. He was often referred to as "Wishy", resulting in the businesses' long standing name. Between the 1920's and 1930's, a soda fountain was added, contributing a great deal to the small businesses' popularity.
