One of the most popular dishes, the Turkish döner (turning roast aka donair) and lamb, are surprisingly like nothing you’ve ever tried before. The mix of spices found in these traditional recipes will transport you on the other side of the Atlantic, in no time.
What To Eat
You may want to start your meal by trying a traditional Patlican salad, which is a fresh dish composed of baked eggplant, mashed and marinated with finely chopped tomatoes, celery, green onions, parsley, fresh garlic and lemon juice. Moving on to the main course, Topkapi offers a variety of vegetable, fish and meat dishes, such as the ever popular lamb, chicken or beef kabobs. Don’t forget to save some room for dessert, because, like the rest of the meal, you will be wonderfully surprised by what you see and taste.
The Venue
This small but cozy restaurant is modern and refreshingly not overcrowded. With plenty of room to move and stretch, you will feel relaxed and unhurried. Reservations are accepted but so are walk-ins so don’t be shy to drop in if you haven’t had time to call ahead.
